Appetizer Ham Logs
- 2 cups Carolina Pride™ Ground Ham
- 1 Egg, beaten
- 1/4 tsp. Pepper
- 1/4 cup Fine Dry Seasoned Breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup Horseradish Sauce
- 1 T. Prepared Mustard
- 1/8 tsp. Celery Salt
- Cooking oil for deep fat frying
- Pimiento Strips (optional)
In a mixing bowl combine Carolina Pride™ ham, egg and pepper; mix well. Shape into 1 inch logs or balls. Roll in breadcrumbs. Cover and chill 1 hour. For mustard sauce, in a small bowl combine horseradish sauce, mustard, and celery salt; mix well. Cover and chill till serving time. In a heavy saucepan or deep-fat fryer, heat cooking oil (enough to cover ham logs) to 365'F. Fry a few ham logs at a time in the hot oil for 2 to 3 minutes or till golden. Remove with a slotted spoon; drain on paper toweling. Garnish with pimiento, if desired. Serve with mustard sauce.
